We are excited to welcome you to Maine to celebrate Dottie’s birthday. We hope this page provides helpful information about traveling to Maine, including nearby airports and hotels.

How do I get to Maine?

  • The airport closest to the party venue is:

    • Portland International Airport (PWM).

There are other airports relatively close that may be more convenient depending on your travel plans:

    • Bangor International Airport (BGR) is about two hours from Portland and provides the easiest access to areas such as Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

The white mountains. are~1 hour drive from this airport. Please note that this is a regional airport and flight selection may be limited for this destination. Boston Logan and Portland International Airports are also relatively close to the White Mountains (~2 hour drive).

  • Amtrak provides direct service to Portland, Maine.

The Downeaster connects Boston to Maine and runs from 4:15am to 10:30pm daily.

Where should I stay?

We have reserved blocks in hotels in the Greater Portland Area that can be reserved for a discounted rate during your stay. Short-term rentals, like Airbnb and VRBO, have many local listings that can accommodate larger groups. Accommodations tend to go quickly, so we recommend planning reservations as early as possible.

Please note that for discounted bookings, you must complete reservation planning no later than listed the deadline. We are unable to accommodate post-deadline requests.
